The Post Impressionist movement embraced Impressionism, but refused to be limited by it. Redon's Landscape, Peyrelebade, displayed hallmarks of the Impressionist style. The landscape was defined by the delicate use of gold and yellow, punctuated by small splashes of burnt orange. However, the unnatural use of bright teal as a field, reflected the independence of Post Impressionist thought.
